Our Logo

Messiah's logo was designed by Jim Brager, one of our members.

As you study this logo, many images begin to emerge. There is the stylized "M" for Messiah and our mission "Sharing Jesus Christ with all people." The angle of the cross urges us to press on.

We are reminded of the birth of our Saviour. The "M" suggests the stable, with the hint of the Bethlehem star in the cross, and the candle suggests Advent wreathes and the Epiphany of the light of the world.

We're  reminded of Jesus' death and resurrection. While the cross is obvious, it's soaring majesty suggest Christ's triumphant victory over sin and death. This time the "M" suggests the folded grave clothes where his body lay, and the flame reminds us that the darkness has not overcome the light of the world.

This logo also suggests the Trinity. The "M" reminds us of God the Father, Creator of heaven and earth, and Genesis 1:7 which says "So God made the dome and separated the waters that were under the dome from the waters that were above the dome." The cross is for God the Son, Redeemer, and the flame reminds us of God the Spirit, Sanctifier, and the gift of the Spirit at Pentecost.

We are also reminded that Messiah is a worshiping community. This time we see an altar with cross and candle, calling us to worship. Or the "M" might be a font, reminding us of the rich life and blessings that we have been gifted with by our gracious God in baptism.
